Diary of Harbour Fan ( 19 July 2011)

12:00pm: took a client to lunch, had a beer, remembered that I was going to a Harbour game and decide to get a little toasted

2:30pm: at work, bit bored, booze wearing off, motivation to earn money low, read www.singleblondeczechs.com

3:15pm: ask workmate if he wants to go to the pub, mate accepts, leave work citing "important client meeting", top up on piss

4:30pm: still at pub, friend picking up fan at 5.00pm for trip to the ground, still time for a couple of roaders

5:15pm: bit hammered now, should know better but hey it's the first home game of the season...Harbaaaa

6:05pm: game starts, not a bad crowd, think about hacking Barry's phone to get the inside goss, not sure what hacking is

6:35pm: use public lavatory, strange Mexican man singing at the urinal

6:50pm: half-time, different Tuesday, same lifeless rugby, fork out a fortune for Speight's and chip combo that tastes suspiciously like Satan's arse (15-6 Tasman)

7:00pm: crikey what's happening here, we are scoring tries and stringing more than one phase together, put down Speight's

7:10pm: saw two tackles in the space of a minute, sobering up, headache on right side of temple, more tackles made, where am I?

7:15pm: tries and lots of them, Botica kicking goals from impossible angles, more Speight's, what did they give these guys at the break?

7.18pm: downloaded NBA Jam on my smartphone

7:25pm: this is awesome, go to make an alcohol-inspired Harbour hoodie purchase, merchandise shop shut, crap!

7:40pm: more tries, game over, 33 points in the second-half, holly-smoke we look quite good (39-15 Harbour) bring on the Bay!

(A very sound and constructive second half of rugby which has breathed life back into a campaign that looked over before it began. Tasman may have paid the price for a quick turn-around and they play their third game in eight days over the weekend. Harbour also need to front on Saturday which will test their fitness and ability to build on a great 40mins of rugby, some good signs though...)
