The cries of "what might have been" resonated around a largely empty stadium on Saturday night as Harbour finally found some form.
In their best performance for a number of years, the boys north of the bridge scored 25 pts, yes 25, by half-time, incredible stuff. The Bay needed to win but were shellshocked within 30 mins as their season ebbed away like an outgoing tide.
They never really recovered from the Harbour Blitzkrieg and I think suffered from not taking this fixture as seriously as they might have.
There were some amazing stand-out performances led by the rapidly improving James King and wee Tuigamala who took his starting spot with two hands (no pun intended) and scored two tries to cement his place at half-back.
No doubt they took some of the Hamster's advice from last week and put away the kicking game and substituted it with pushing it wide - and what happened, we looked more dangerous than a blind Korean on the wrong side of Tristram Ave!
We only let them back in with silly kicking from our pivot and when Tuigamala got a bit excited and hoisted needless balls skyward for all to see.
McPhee had a good game at the back and kicked well, Harris while excellent from the tee, was not so flash in general play, the same could be said for Botica but had little time to make a real impact.
Mayhew continued good form and benefited from staying on the park longer which no doubt was also stolen from the Hamster - a rugby genius if there was ever one.
Boric, Chamberlain and King were the pick of the forwards and dominated in a game where perhaps they were expected to play second fiddle.
I was having a fiddle at full-time and lets hope we can back this up in the capital. The only blight on a diamond effort was Pastry chopping some guy in half, he is average and needs to be disposed of.
