Comment:
An outstanding contributor to the North Harbour team in 2005, Rawlinson
has been the form lock in this year's NPC.
His impact at
ruck and maul time has been crucial to the delivery of "front
foot" to our talented backline stars while his athleticism
around the park and ball carrying ability mark him as a leading
contender for Forward of the Year honours in 2005.
We love the
big guy's work and are pretty happy that he has made the hard call
to turn his back on a Bok jersey and continue his drive for an All
Black call-up.
We are not the
only ones who like his work. We recently received this e-mail from
a fan in South Africa who thought our site was the official North
Harbour site.
"Hi Greg
Rawlinson,
my name is ******* ******* Rawlinson, i have been following your
play when North harbour rugby games are shown in south africa, and
i must say how proud i am of you. i always dreamt of playing for
NZ rugby team and then later for the ALL BLACKS , but i was not
so lucky. When i played rugby i represented Border , east london
, in std 9 and 10 at the DR Danie Craven week, after leaving school
i played for sa police under21 , while in police in pretoria , after
being transfered back to east london , i played 1 match for Border
senior , but was involved in motorcar accident at work .i grew up
watching Sid Going and dreamt of playing like Sean Fitzpatrick ,
until my accident. i am still in sa police but my injuries dont
allow me to play rugby again , SO GREG my dreams are with you now
and although you are not a hooker (no 2) you are a RAWLINSON and
i am proud of you."
