As disclosed
in the Otago match report rumour has it that player influence has
once again taken over at Harbour. Last year there was a definite
'bloc' of athletes who did not subscribe to the Pollock regime and
things got well out of hand before commonsense prevailed. Despite
efforts to dispel that rumour as a 'red-herring', the departure
of Coughlan, Ward and co. showed that they were no longer prepared
to take direction from the 2005 management team.
An inside source
has told the Hamster that this year's management have gone the other
way and there are simply too many players responsible for team decision-making.
It was obvious early on that Pollock in particular was busy aligning
himself with the 'younger set' of Harbour players but this has unwittingly
led to a cumbersome structure. The Hamster believes that while we
should be sensitive to player demands and apportion responsibility
and leadership, the true direction of Harbour should come from the
top as employers.
In saying this
we have a pretty good record??? Maybe it suits us???
Like most coaches
at this time, they begin to slowly evaluate their futures in the
present position. Walter Little was overheard to be seriously considering
resigning from Glenfield. Helensville, Takapuna and Kumeu also face
the prospect of new coaches has the 'rumour-mill' reaches a frenzy.
The ticket manager
leaves at the Harbour office this month. On behalf of all supporters
who received their season tickets late or for mail that was re-directed
to a mystery address - thanks for your hard work. Seriously, it
can't have been easy working for some of the CEO twats we have had
in recent years. She gave her best I'm sure.
