2004 Player Preview (briefly touching on the 2003 review)

Front row: Joe, Slade, Tony, Donald, Coughlan.
Reasonably sound, some of these players notably Donald and Coughlan will be looking to finally break through and cement a regular spot in the front row. Haven't got much time for the Marist guy. Nice to see a player ditch Harbour for the bright lights and bohemian sights of Wellington only too fail miserably, suck loser. Looking to Woodcock and Ward to be the big influences there.

Middle row: Greg, Marty, Steve.
Should be solid if not a little uninspiring. Jackson was a good move and we are hoping Veale makes the step up to Super 12 next season with another improved performance. Greg has been out for sometime but his mere size gives me the willies.

Back Row: Newbs, Wilson, Who knows.
Very worried about these positions. Disappointed in Newbs as he seems hell-bent on moving to Otago and his 'bugger the rules where's my dispensation" attitude. Funny how when money is involved your home union is left in the cold. Arsehole. Wilson is very good but I'm not sure who is going to help him.

Halfback: Fulton, Meyer and the Massey guy.
Chad was an inspirational genius, sorry that was last years report. Hope the Union have sorted out Fulton's transfer from England or wherever he was(I can see shuffling of papers from here). Meyer is a journey-man, hopefully he buggers off soon, preferably not near the 'Shore (city not club). Fulton is good and I like the Massey fella too, with Super 12 experience Billy should be good value. I think the Massey guy is called Junior but that could be said for half of the brothers that come from Westside.

Fly-half: Nick, Luke.
Quote from last year..."This turned out to be a good thing because Nick Evans was sensational. He will move to Otago next year to cover Tony Brown". Profound stuff that. This year is the last we will see Evans in a Harbour jersey and that makes me sad. Luke will no doubt follow to Harlequins as long as his Dad can be the coach. Both have talent to burn and should serve us well, no reason to think otherwise.

Centres (inside and outside): Andrew, Anthony, Luke, Rico....
They were fantastic last year and have had good club seasons. Their defence and ability to break the first tackle should prove to be many a teams undoing. Just not sure if we will get the ball to them. A fit Rico gets me hard. (in a thigh-slapping changing-room way).

The Back Three: Tusi, Hosea, Rudi, Rico, Whiteman, Evans...
Tusi is still there and that is a major concern. Can no one see how rubbish he is. The rest will be the highlight of the year and hopefully will score more tries than a rampant Kapa at a Kaipatiki try-fest.

Administration: Change of the Guard.
Give them a season to get their feet under the table.

Coach: Polly and Anscombe
Not sure, not overly happy.
