Luke was once thought of as the next great thing,
a young man who would grow and mature into a top-class professional
footballer.
What has emerged is something quite different - a
pretentious, sulky fella who has done very well out of professional
rugby, but his behaviour and that of his management fall short of
common decency.
On the eve of a new and condensed season, when a good
start is vital, it's "marquee" player fails to show, hides behind
a sick child and all but destroys the Harbour side with a seriously
unwanted distraction.
There is no doubt that this must have upset the preparations
for new coach Liam Barry and defence genius - Wilson.
It is time for the good of Harbour and NZ rugby to
cut this boy free from our shores and hope that when he returns
he is too old to do more damage.
Shame.
For the record a former friend of mine predicted that
NZ and it's "stars" would struggle under the weight of professional
sport and he has been proven right, almost 100% actually. Unfortunately
that person moved to Auckland and we have had to cut all ties.
