In a slightly surprising result, Liam Barry has been
named Head Coach of Harbour Rugby for 3 years.
When was the last time a coach lasted 3 years? It
has been a wee while, they usually take 2 years to work out the
team ain't going all that flash.
While he would not have been my first choice and it
smells just a wee bit like 5 day old snapper left in the back of
the Holden - my biggest concern is Wilson's reappointment. Correct
me if I am wrong but wasn't that backline of 2009-10 one of the
worst in the competition, leaking tries galore...
Anyone who went to Harbour Rugby Awards saw a deflated
Dowd on the outer and Wilson clearly in favour with all.
I know it is Harbour with a few rough edges and deals
in dark corners but wouldn't it have been better to sweep out the
old and install some hardened coaches with proven experience. Time
will tell.
