The above fixtures
are what we have left for the rest of the season and I suspect that
it is going to be tough for us to pick up too many more points.
After my crazed rant at the weekend, I am back to being half full
in my cup again and hope for the following.
The Scum - I
think that we can go close (maybe even dream that we can win) and
can go for 2 bonus points. 4 tries and finish within 7. Doubt we
will win as they showed a bit of fire in their bellies to come back
at the death at the weekend v Manuwatu and also, Anscombe will have
their players jacked up on P for this game. A kind of... 2 fingers
up at you from him is on the cards!
Counties - Must
win and I think we will take them if we can smother their free spirited
running and take them on up front where they have been found wanting
a little this year. Plenty of rucking and close quarters practices
for this game.
Waikato - They
are not too great this year either so it could be a game where we
need to convert every point on offer and keep ourselves in their
half for as much of the game as we can. Long periods of play where
we have the ball will help but will be a big ask. An away win.
B.O.P - - Tough
ask. They are playing some brilliant rugby and if they turn up ready
for business on the night it will be tough. Our last home game though,
so the boys should hopefully want to fire up and leave the fans
with a win. I suspect it will be a loss within 7.
Wellington -
No win, No Shield! Could get pumped!
Manuwatu - They
are playing brilliant rugby this year and it may be Cruden's last
game for them before he heads to Auckland (big money talks) and
as such, I think we will get beaten easily.
So, to conclude,
on Saturday I was so depressed I said no more wins this season but
by Monday morning I am back being more positive. I think at best
3 wins and that might just be enough to keep us above average. It
has to start this weekend and if we do win over in the land of scum
it will potentially be the game that kick starts our season.
Come on lads,
fire up, grow some balls and stand up and be counted. As men, as
representatives of your families, your clubs and your union you
owe it to yourselves first and all others second to have one almighty
effort and get the show back on the road. No better place to do
it!
