Programme Pete, the Harbour geek #3

In this exciting new section, Programme Pete, the Harbour Geek looks into programmes of the past:

Game: North Harbour v Bay of Plenty
Date: Saturday, 17 August, 2002, 7.35pm
Price: Cost $4 (publisher unknown)
Result: 39-33 to Harbour
Tries: B. Urlich, M. Robinson, T. Woodcock, M. Mayerhofler, N. Evans
Cons: L. McAlister (4)
Pens: L McAlister (2)
Cover: The cover has the stocky halfback of the day Mark "Sharkey" Robinson. Harbour had moved back to Russell Athletic as their kit sponsor and the jersey retained it's more traditional look. The sponsor logo of Vodafone is prominent in black and the logo of other sponsors and the Air NZ NPC all feature.
The Vibe: Good solid programme, plenty of news without going over the top. These measure 210mm x 145mm and were glossy and generally well put together.
The Content: An article by Lindsay Knight on the first round or the NPC, profile of Flavell, a feature on our young players and a boring piece on our new coach Russell Jones.
Player Profile: Troy Flavell (Massey) Sadly this didn't have his favourite meal (red meat) or his favourite hobbies (bashing smaller people in CBD hostelries). Pretty crap really on one of our better player products.
Interesting Bits: The BOP team featured three Harbour past/future players, Mark Weedon, Rodney Voullaire and Greg Rawlinson. The Board featured Doug "Misappropriation" Rollerson and the Chairman Laurie Margrain who were all to fall on the swords in the near future. The Rosmini side featured Robert Colhoun, Richard Mayhew, Mike Reid and Ryan Wilson, some of which played for Harbour with distinction.
The Team: 1. T Woodcock
2. S McFarland
3. T Taumoepeau
4. M Lord
5. M Giacheri
6. A Gallagher
7. C Newby
8. B Urlich
9. M Robinson
10. L McAlister
11. H Reid
12. M Mayerhofler
13. B Miller
14. R Penney
15. N Evans
Game Before: vs. Northland (10/8) won 35-10
Next Fixture: vs. Waikato (24/8), we lost again in Hamilton
Back Cover: Vodafone. "A new rugby game, where this is the only headgear you'll need" - witty.
