Summing up the 2008 Season

During the Northland game, the Hamster observed a rather large man give multiple verbal shout-outs to various players at North Harbour Stadium. Sadly for our most revered rodent, he was seated one row behind my furry back.

Late in the second-half he turned his abuse towards Josh York who happened to be our best player on the park. He proceeded to deliver his witty remarks something like this."I thought you had more pace Wulf, come-on I thought you were an All Black, boo.etc."

The Hamster politely reminded this feral, misguided gentleman that Rudi Wulf was not on the field of play and that he was black and not white. This only spurred the knowledgeable fan on to further attacks which ended with the forever funny joke."all day ref".

I believe this sums the season up nicely, lacking knowledge, no evidence of culture and a reluctance to look the facts in the face. Follow that up with the NZRU email promoting Sunday's fixture with the subject byline: "the entertainment never stops" and it was another forgettable afternoon in a series of forgettable seasons.
